Vienna's Creme de la Creme

There is no better way to start a morning than with coffee and a sweet treat. But the day gets even better when you discover a new favourite spot in your city: Vienna. Creme de la Creme is a new cafe patisserie in Josefstadt, the trendy 8th district of Vienna. The owner is the petite sweet Julia, who, for the past 5 years made brides and grooms smile by baking cake pops for their weddings as well as other events. Now, she made a huge step by opening up her own cafe, to the delight of all pastry lovers. Such a nice change to all the hipster cafes in Vienna - this place has French style and elegant class.

Let me start out with this: Everything in the cafe is simply beautiful - from the space to the sweet treats. It is obvious how much love for detail has been put into each and every pastry as well as the interior design. You will sit there, listening to music of the classical kind, say mmmm a bunch , and when you look up you will spot the spectacular flour sifters which have been transformed into stylish lamps. Blew my mind, so to speak.

And when the interior design is just as much on point as the sweet treats, the background music is of the classical kind and the owner an adorable Viennese with a big smile on her face, you know you have found a new favourite place. This place is truly the creme de la creme of Vienna's pastry shops and if you haven't visited yet, you better make plans to do so.

My personal favorites are the hazelnut pastry as well as the Striezel, a traditional Austrian sweet braided yeast bread.
